Heidi Shierholz

Shierholz is an expert on labor market dynamics, labor and employment policy, and the effects of economic policies on low- and middle-income families. She is co-author of two editions of The State of Working America.Her writings have appeared in a number of publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and U.S. News & World Report. She is regularly called to testify before Congress on labor market issues, including unemployment insurance and immigration. Shierholz previously served as Chief Economist of the United States Department of Labor in the Obama Administration.
