Harris’ work on K-12 and higher education has been cited in almost every major national news outlet and international publications such as The Economist, as well as by opinion leaders such as David Brooks, Ross Douthat, Bill Gates, Malcolm Gladwell, and Nicholas Kristoff. He is also the founding Director of both the Education Research Alliance for New Orleans and the National Center for Research on Education Access and Choice (REACH), which work with local policymakers and practitioners to understand and improve the nation’s schools. He has testified in the U.S. Senate and advised governors of both political parties in eight states, the U.S. Department of Education, and the Biden transition team. Harris is also an affiliated scholar at Tulane’s Murphy Institute and a nonresident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution.
